Wood Watch Box in Quarter Sawn White Oak and Black Limba

This is not your ordinary mass produced watch box. Each of my watch boxes are custom made by me, one by one, by selecting complimenting wood species, giving each piece it’s own unique look.

The main body of the box is built from Quarter Sawn White Oak wood, an American hardwood with distinctive “flecking” or rays noticeable within the grain. The lid and box bottom are made of Black Limba, a golden brown, exotic African wood species with black streaks and straight grain. The interior box bottom is lined with a blue and white cloth fabric.

What is very interesting about this box is the handle, which is made from Bog Oak wood. Bog Oak is a wood that has been buried in peat bogs, preserved from decay for thousands of years which turns the wood almost black. Most Bog oak is known to be between 4000 - 6000 years old.

The box is finished with a hand rubbed, durable natural oil and wax blend, free of toxins and VOC’s, that leaves a beautiful sheen with a pleasing natural touch to the wood.

The watch is not included, however a light yellowish-brown burlap watch pillow is.
