This keepsake box is perfect for storing items such as jewelry and sentimental items, as a valet, or even as a gift in itself.
The main box is built from Black Limba, a golden and dark brown, exotic African wood species with black streaks and straight grain. The lid, base and splines are Walnut wood, a naturally dark brown, durable domestic hardwood (and by the way, my absolute favorite wood to work with). The lid of the box is hand carved in a linear pattern, radial to the center, forming a deep circular cut.
The box bottom is lined with a blue and white Japanese Tenugui cloth in the Asa-No-Ha pattern. This geometric pattern is representative of a hemp leaf, symbolic of growth and good health.
The box is finished with a hand rubbed, durable natural oil and wax blend, free of toxins and VOC’s, that leaves a beautiful sheen with a pleasing natural touch to the wood.
